Thank you so much for clicking on the link! We're looking forward to working with your child(ren).
As we mentioned in the cover letter, the main goal of this research activity is to understand how considering other perspectives influences children’s sharing behavior between characters who are similar to or different from themselves. As part of this, we’re interested in how children share when they are told about characters from different groups, including religious groups. In one version of the activity, your child will be asked some questions about their beliefs and practices, and then hear about characters who have similar or different beliefs and practices.
In the two other versions of the activity, your child will hear about characters who are from the US or not from the US, or about characters who are on a blue team or a gray team. In all versions, children will be asked to share resources between two characters from different groups.
We design the studies to be fun and engaging for children. These activities are most interesting for participants (and work best for us!) when children don't know what we're studying before they participate. So, if you would like to discuss the study goals with your child, we would be grateful if you could wait until after they have participated.
